Assistant Accountant - Longtown CA6 5LY

Due to our continued growth, we are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our team based in Longtown.

​

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that accounting information is accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner, liaising directly with internal and external stakeholders whilst maintaining an excellent level of customer service to all. The role will support the Wm Armstrong Longtown (WAL) business. You will be responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts. This will include full balance sheet reconciliations. You will support with the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT Returns. You will provide daily/weekly KPI reports. At all times ensuring you are following processes and procedures correctly, and ensuring the accuracy of data and inputting is continually checked.

To be successful in this role you will be highly proficient in Excel, have previous experience of working within an accounts department, and are able to multitask and perform in a reactive environment. You will have the ability to work under pressure, whilst having meticulous attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work. You will be an effective communicator, with the ability to work to deadlines on a weekly basis, thriving in a busy and fast-paced environment. A strong and experienced administrator, organised, proactive and have excellent attention to detail.
