HSQE Co-ordinator – Longtown, Carlisle, CA6 5LY

We are currently looking for a HSQE Co-Ordinator for maternity cover for a fixed term period of 12 months, to join our team within our Health, Safety, Quality & Environment function.

In this role, you will work closely with our internal Health and Safety and Quality team to ensure the company maintains all required certifications and is legally compliant in all its health, safety, and quality activities. You will support and contribute to the co-ordination of health, safety & quality activities across the business, which will require you to plan, establish and implement health and safety initiatives. You will support the operational teams in audits, inspections, risk assessments, incident investigation, as well as support the coordination, maintenance and administration of health, safety, and quality documentation. You will participate in the delivery of health & safety training and inductions, which will include weekly site visits. You will also collate information for preparation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

To be successful in this role you will be a ‘people person’ with a passion to drive health and safety in a positive manner, health and safety qualifications are not a must, we are looking for someone with the drive and have ability to undertake the role. If you have the IOSH managing safety at work qualification this would be a fantastic bonus to the role. You will need to be an effective communicator and have great organisational skills, being able to stay calm under pressure, thriving in a busy and fast-paced environment. You will have great numerical and analytical skills, including experience of spreadsheets and computer-based systems, including Microsoft products.

In return we offer: an attractive salary, between £25k-£35k which will be dependent on qualifications and experience and for the right candidate we are open to discussing this, access to excellent benefits such as life assurance, sickness, and pension schemes. The hours for this role will mainly be office hours through Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and evening work supporting the teams as required.
