IT Support Technician
Longtown, Carlisle
We are looking for an IT Support Technician to join the business to support the growth and development of the IT service and provisions required.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in IT, have undertaken or be undertaking an IT qualification, ideally at NVQ Level 3, though we will consider applications for someone who is willing to work towards this.

Job Purpose
To provide efficient and effective IT services and support to the organisation. To undertake administration, support and monitoring of the ICT network, hardware, and software resources; including installation, maintenance, availability, and security to support the operation requirements of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Work alongside experienced IT Manager whilst learning all aspects of the role.
Be the lead with the development of Microsoft 365 Administration
Administration and maintenance of server hardware and software systems, including directory services, operating systems, email systems and database systems.
Administration and maintenance of the company network, including switches and Wi-Fi access points.
Creating, distributing, and maintaining user accounts and profiles, including remote/local access accounts and email system accounts.
Deal with enquiries, tickets logged on the service desk and to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and internal/external personnel
Assigning and revoking company equipment including laptops, smart phones, and access tokens.
To ensure accurate record keeping using IT systems
To follow instructions and procedures within the IT Service
To work in line with ‘best practice’ ensuring compliance to relevant policies
To maintain confidentiality and discretion
Assist in general administration and support
To demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed and flexible attitude towards work, team member, colleagues and other persons
Remuneration & Hours:
Full-time permanent position - 40hours per week.
Salary dependent on qualifications and experience - £12k-£23k
Monday to Friday – some weekend work may be available and required
28 days holiday entitlement, including bank holidays

Qualifications
GCSE Grades A-C or equivalent in Maths and English
Hold or be willing to work towards a related NVQ Level 3
Full valid driving license is desirable
Experience
Previous IT experience advantageous
Genuine interest in IT, to become career
Skills
Confident & professional telephone manner
Good communication skills, written and verbal
Ability to communicate at all levels, both internally and externally
Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision.
Ability to work well alone and as part of a team.
Good numerical and analytical skills, including experience of spreadsheets and computer-based systems, including Microsoft products.
