Yard/Warehouse Supervisor – Uddingston G71 6PB

Job Purpose

 

To ensure the efficient running of the yard and warehouse operation, accountable for the goods and operations within these areas.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Responsible for supervising the yard and warehouse team on a day-to-day basis.

Responsible for safe loading and unloading of vehicles – While considering vehicle weights and dimensions.

Responsible for keeping administration up to date.

Responsible for ensuring the warehouse and yard are kept clean.

Responsible for communicating effectively in relation to the workload and daily tasks to yard/warehouse operatives.

Ensuring all tasks relating to the yard and warehouse are carried out safely and effectively.

Ensure plant and equipment kept in working order, defects raised and repaired.Liaising with relevant colleagues for updated inbound and outbound freight volumes.

Brief yard/warehouse team, drivers and subcontractor of any amendments to routing and loading detail.

Ensuring all trunks and vehicles all loaded to deadlines.

Ensure compliance with and promote all health and safety rules and regulations regarding the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.

 

Remuneration & Hours:

 

Full time position

Monday – Friday with weekends on rota

45hr per week – early/late rota and working

Day Rate: 12.57, with overtime rates available

28 days holiday entitlement, including bank holidays

Skills/Knowledge

 

Hold a current counterbalance forklift licence.

Previous warehouse experience required.

Health & safety conscious

Attention to detail and excellent organisation skills.

Must be flexible regard working hours / shift patterns.

Previous pallet network experience advantageous.

Confidence to communicate at all levels.

Ability to work under pressure.

Working to deadlines.

Work well under own initiative as well as part of a team.

Develop a strong knowledge and understanding of Wm. Armstrong transport operations and procedures.

Develop a knowledge of our customer locations, profile and products.

Full car driving licence advantageous.
