Fleet Manager - Longtown

We are looking for an experienced and driven Fleet Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and fully compliant operation of our growing fleet, supporting a large-scale haulage operation.

​

This is a pivotal role where you will optimise fleet performance, control costs, ensure full regulatory compliance, and play a key part in delivering exceptional service standards across the business.

​

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximise fleet utilisation, performance, and cost efficiency across all depots

  • Monitor key KPIs (fuel, uptime, cost per mile) and drive continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with operational teams to optimise fleet deployment and resolve issues

  • Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations, Operator Licence requirements, and audit standards

  • Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and service performance

  • Oversee maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and ensure legal compliance

  • Control fleet-related costs and identify savings opportunities

  • Support fleet lifecycle planning including procurement and disposal

  • Drive sustainability initiatives and adoption of innovative technologies

  • Use data and telematics systems to monitor performance and inform decision-making

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in fleet management within a haulage or logistics environment

  • Strong knowledge of DVSA regulations and Operator Licence compliance

  • Commercially aware with a focus on cost control and efficiency

  • A confident communicator who can influence and collaborate across teams

  • Data-driven, with experience using fleet systems and telematics

  • Passionate about innovation and sustainability
