Cumbrian haulier Wm Armstrong is investing in the expansion of its customer service team and says a renewed focus on delivering a high-quality customer experience will help strengthen its position as one of the region’s premier logistics businesses.
The road logistics specialist, which has its headquarters in Longtown, is recruiting for four new customer experience advisors as it concentrates on enhancing the links between its customers and the business.
The roles are part of its current recruitment drive for 10 new staff across its operations in Cumbria, the North West and Scotland.
Becci Bagnall, Head of Customer Experience and Sales at Wm Armstrong, said: “Working with local and regional businesses across the North West for many years, we have always understood that maintaining strong relationships with customers is fundamental to the success of our family business.
“That is the only way we can continue to meet their needs and respond to the challenges and changing demands in the marketplace. The use of technology and the shift in consumer expectations around eCommerce ordering and delivery has driven changes in road transport and logistics.
“Making deliveries on-time was historically the sole requirement, but that’s now bolstered by a range of initiatives such as live tracking, real-time updates and freight images to keep customers fully connected to their goods at every step of the journey.
“We are investing in our customer experience team to ensure our customers have easy access to professional and helpful individuals who can efficiently deal with any enquiries and ensure they receive service excellence and a premium customer experience.
“We’ve recently strengthened our sales and business development teams and have a trusted pathway for colleagues to progress their careers within the business with learning and skills development support.”
Wm Armstrong offers a range of logistics services include full truck deliveries and next-day distribution of palletised freight with the ability to deliver to every UK postcode every day.
The business is also an expert in dairy and milk transportation. It transports milk from farms across Cumbria and Lancashire 365 days a year, using some of the most modern tankers in Europe.
