We are currently looking for a Senior FLT/Warehouse Operative to join our team at our Uddingston Depot.
In this role, you will responsibility for the safe loading and unloading of vehicles, whilst considering vehicle weights and dimensions, ensuring this is done within the plan and to schedule. You will ensure you are communicating effectively with your warehouse colleagues, also liaising with colleagues in the traffic team and other departments in relation to the plan and schedule. You will be responsible for ensuring all tasks relating to the yard and warehouse are carried out safely and effectively, including ensuring that all personnel on site, employees, contractors, or customers are adhering to the relevant site rules and regulations. You will ensure that plant and equipment is kept in good working order, raising defects and arranging repairs when required. You will also be required to carry out briefs to the warehouse team, drivers, and subcontractor, including instructions or amendments to routing and loading detail.

To be successful in this role, you will have some previous warehouse experience and ideally hold a current counterbalance forklift licence. You will be extremely health and safety conscious with the ability to challenge the wrong behaviours and ensure everyone is always working in a safe manner. You will be a good communicator and you will have excellent organisation skills. You will be able to work well on your own as well as part of a team. You will also need to be able to work under pressure, with the ability to respond and react to changes that can occur within the role.

The role is a full-time position, working on the afternoon operations, around 40/42.5hrs per week, with a weekday hourly rate of £12.57 pre 18:00hrs and £13.52 post 18:00hrs, some weekend work may also be required with further enhanced rates available.
