🕒 Shifts: 4/4 shift pattern, 12 hours per day
⏱ Average Weekly Hours: 40.36
💰 Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum
⏳ Flexibility: Ability to work additional shifts/hours during holiday and increased operational periods+.

Are you ready to take the wheel in a fast-paced, dynamic transport environment? We’re looking for a Transport Operator to join our dedicated team at our Redscar site in Preston. If you thrive on organisation, communication, and keeping things moving smoothly, this is the role for you!

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Accurately record all transport jobs in our systems, ensuring documentation like PODs and Consignment Notes are up to date.

  • Book in deliveries and collections, keeping everything on track and in line with our processes.

  • Brief and debrief drivers daily, ensuring they’re informed and ready to go.

  • Maintain compliance with company procedures, health & safety, and site security.

  • Support the collection of key management information and KPIs.

  • Communicate effectively with customers and drivers, logging all actions clearly.

  • Provide regular updates and situation reports to the transport team.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.

 

🧠 What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in a fast-paced transport or logistics environment.

  • Solid understanding of legal compliance, driver hours, and WTD regulations.

  • Strong multitasking skills and a flexible, team-oriented mindset.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a professional approach to customer service.

  • Confident communication skills and a polished telephone manner.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
