Traffic Planner – Milk Reload

We are currently looking for a Traffic Planner – Milk Reload to join our Milk reload team based in Longtown.
​
In this role, you will be responsible for the planning of our milk reload vehicle movements, working alongside other Traffic Planners within the Milk and General Haulage teams. You will efficiently schedule daily planning activity, ensuring the most efficient use of vehicles and drivers during collections and deliveries whilst taking account of WTR and Drivers Hours Rules, vehicle weights and dimensions and the Road Traffic Act. All related information must be accurately recorded onto company and other IT systems. You will handle real time communications with our drivers, solving or escalating issues as appropriate where they occur. Given how the Milk operations currently works, we are looking for applications for the position to be based at our head office in Longtown.

To be successful in this role you will be a ‘people person’ and a real team player. Previous planning experience within milk haulage would be advantageous, equally if you have experience of transport planning, we can help you understand the milk haulage elements. You will be an effective communicator and able to stay calm under pressure, thriving in a busy and fast-paced environment. A strong and experienced planner, proficient in the use of all Microsoft programs, you are organised, proactive and have excellent attention to detail.

In return we offer: an attractive salary, between £28-35k dependent on experience, access to benefits such as life assurance, sickness, and pension schemes. The role will be working over 7 days on rolling shift pattern of 4 days on 4 days off, 4 days on 3 days off. The hours for this role will be 12 hours per day with a 45-minute unpaid break.
